Dan began his career in Timeshare back in the early 80’s as an OPC walking the gulf coast beaches of Florida. At first he thought it was a way to make some quick money whilst attending the University of South Florida in Tampa, since that day he has never looked back.

Throughout his career as an OPC, Salesman, TO, Manager and Project Director, Trainer or Consultant; Dan has always been recognized for his stellar achievements over the years.

Now, with close to 30 years experience in all facets of sales, sales management and marketing he shares his experience and wealth of knowledge across the globe. As one of our industry’s most talented and recognizable trainers and consultants, Dan has worked with developers both large and small to implement programmes that make the difference to their bottom line in 38 countries.

Denis Ebrill is Executive Vice President of Sol Meliá Vacation Club, part of a growing and expanding leisure lifestyle concept that includes exotic destinations, designer-appointed luxury suites, exclusive services and unforgettable leisure experiences for Members. Sol Meliá Vacation Club is part of Spanish-based Sol Meliá Hotels & Resorts, a 50-year-old international hospitality company with 350 hotels in 30 countries on five continents.

Previously, Ebrill was Senior Vice President of Real Estate Acquisitions & Development for Starwood Vacation Ownership. He also held the position of Senior Vice President for the Latin America Division and Director of Operations of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. for Mexico and Central America and was in charge of operations for the Luxury Collection, Westin, Sheraton and Four Points hotels in the region. He was responsible for overseeing the integration of all Westin and Sheraton hotels in Mexico and Central America and the addition of new hotels, including six boutique properties in the Luxury Collection and a new W Hotel in Mexico City. Prior to his Mexico assignment, he served as Vice President, Latin America Division and Area Director for ITT Sheraton in Brazil.

Ebrill has also held several corporate and hotel general manager positions with Starwood and Sheraton in Alaska, Boston, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Mexico, and Venezuela.

A veteran hospitality and leisure real estate executive with over 36 years experience in the industry, Ebrill is a native of Dublin, Ireland and graduated in Hotel Administration from St. Mary’s College in Dublin. Besides his native English, he speaks Spanish and Portuguese and he and his wife, Susan, have an international family with four children.

Pretoria born Stuart Lamont, a leading property developer from Kwa-Zulu-Natal’s South Coast, joined the Group in 1994. Stuart focused on developing and implementing technologically advanced, measurable systems, procedures and quality of service, in all aspects of the Group.

Stuart’s experience in property development and management, together with his keen attention to detail and exceptional negotiating skills, soon led the group to acquire and develop other exciting products such as Off Beat Holiday Club, Star Vacation Club, Club Trafalgar, Club Resorts International (CRI), Magic Breakaways and numerous other key leisure properties. These rapidly grew in value to over R2,880 million during 2002. Over the years Tony and Stuart, as partners in the Management Companies of the Group, have continued to modify products to meet ever-changing market dynamics. An example is the revolutionary Corporate Club concept, offering business accommodation, to companies, in key business centres throughout South Africa, effecting savings of almost 50% on regular hotel accommodation costs

With the support of a handpicked, common-vision management team, the Group has successfully progressed to develop a portfolio of leisure and business accommodation clubs, including: Flexi-Club, Star Vacation Club, Off Beat Holiday Club, Rainbow Holiday Club, Corporate Club, Flexi-Vac and Premier Vacation Club with inventory valued at over R2,880 million (as at 2002) in over 150 resorts, as well as a number of service companies to provide the full spectrum of services to members and partners.

Today Club Leisure Group serves over 200 000 members throughout South Africa, United Kingdom, Europe and Australia and is responsible for the employment of over 2 500 trained personnel, linked worldwide by a highly sophisticated network of information technology

Leslie McCann is the Group Marketing Director of Seasons Holidays with over
28 years experience in the timeshare industry as a director of some of the biggest and most successful
companies, is generally acknowledged for his innovative marketing techniques and has been elected a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

He is also a board member of the Timeshare Council, which is the UK chapter of the RDO.

Harry Taylor is Chief Executive of consumer association TATOC – Timeshare Associations & Timeshare Owners Committees.

The TATOC mission is to safeguard and enhance the timeshare holiday experience for existing and prospective users and to be the voice of owners.

After a long career as senior manager for the Co-opertative, Harry became a timeshare owner himself. As well as owing several weeks of timeshare, he is also Chairman of Sunset Bay Owners Committee in Tenerife, Lakeview Country Club in Cornwall and is a Non Executive Director of The Diamond Resorts European Collection Ltd.

From their city centre offices in Manchester, England Harry oversees a TATOC operation that has over 80 resorts signed up as members; giving access to over 250,000 timeshare-owning families.

TATOC promote the maintenance of high quality standards of facilities and amenities and to encourage the efficient management of timeshare resorts through communication and education. They also lobby and campaign on matters related to timeshare and timeshare owners through liaison with trade industry bodies and government departments.

Eugene Miskelly, based in offices in London and Spain, has been main Board member and Group Counsel for 10 years with Club La Costa, a developer, promoter and management group of Resorts in UK, Spain and various other countries.

Eugene is an English qualified lawyer and is Chairman of RDO’s Legislative Council and active participant in the lobbying working group. In the past he worked for one of the Trust companies as well as a well known exchange company (Interval International), in the timeshare industry, and for 5 years in Private Equity investment. In addition to his Corporate and compliance roles he heads up the Group’s Human Resources Department –and with a combined team of over 2500 staff that keeps him pretty busy!!!

Directly after completing of a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree at Glasgow University, Robin Nicholson left behind a possible careering in auditing and entered the world of travel & tourism. Following 5 years with various UK based tour operators, Robin joined Hapimag in spring 1998 as Resort Manager of the newly opened Hapimag Resort London, located in Lancaster Gate, Hyde Park.

Robin moved to corporate Head Office, in Baar Switzerland in 2003, as Deputy Head of Resort & Lifestyle Management, later incorporating the role of Business Development.

As of early 2009 Business Development has become a separate department within the Hapimag organisation, the new department being headed by Robin Nicholson.
Hapimag Business Development involves 3 key functions: the sourcing of land or property for classical resort development (to continuously expand our portfolio of presently 56 resorts in 16 counties); sourcing supplementary accommodation through rental or exchanges & the analysis and development of future business models.

Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels is a company that is among the leading lights of timeshare in Europe and one that is, by its innovative and progressive approach, defining the standard and shaping the way in which its more than 50,000 members enjoy their holidays.

• Roy came to the UK in the 1980s, where he founded Club La Costa in 1984
• He has since successfully expanded CLC Resorts & Hotels, increasingly moving towards a mixed-use Vacation Club concept incorporating freehold holiday homes
• Married, with three children, Roy has homes in London and Marbella, near the two managerial hubs of CLC’s business operations
• Through the Peires Family Foundation and The Smile Foundation (which CLC founded in 1999) he supports numerous charities and charitable projects

With over twenty five years experience at the forefront of the hospitality industry, John is an innovative entrepreneur with a passion for hotels, resorts and villas.

John formed Royal Resorts in 1993 with the specific purpose of marketing and developing resorts in India and Asia to an international five star standard. This included the development of the Haathi Mahal Hotel in Goa, India along with ten other properties in the region.

During the last decade, Karma Royal Group has expanded rapidly throughout the region with a further eleven resorts opening in India, Indonesia, Thailand and Australia. Karma Royal Group is the undisputed market leader in holiday ownership products with over 40,000 owners throughout the region. They currently have a network of 2,000 employees across seven countries working in operations, sales and marketing.

Karma Jimbaran, the first Karma Resort, opened in Bali in 2005 when John recognised a gap in the market for luxury all-villa resorts. Karma Resort guests benefit from the best of both worlds, the privacy of a villa, combined with all the amenities of a luxury resort. Karma Samui opened with 36 villas in Thailand in early 2006. Karma Kandara, opened in March 2008, the group’s second Balinese property, Karma Margaret River, scheduled to open in Western Australia in 2011.

The total number of Resorts at present is 15 with another 6 either under construction or being planned in the Philippines, Fiji, Lombok, Sri Lanka, Australia and another in Bali. Mykonos was completed in 2009.

John is a passionate sports fan and currently sponsors the Western Force Rugby Team in Perth and the English International rugby team. He also used to own the Perth Glory, one of the few Professional Australian Soccer teams.

John is a Commissioner on the West Australian Tourism Board and supporter of numerous charities, John was awarded ‘Philanthropist of the Year’ by the American Resort Developers’ Association (ARDA) in 2006.

John’s has two daughters and a son. He has homes in Perth, London, Singapore and Mykonos.

Preben Vestdam is President of Valhalla Associates where he oversees the consulting and management services offered to developers, investors and owners of mixed-use hotel and resort properties including development strategy, project feasibility, sales & marketing management and property asset management.

Prior to Valhalla, Preben was the President & CEO of NorthCourse, the leisure real estate consulting and asset management arm of Wyndham Worldwide where he established the NorthCourse business globally developing the brand, the product line and the service delivery across four continents. He also established Qatar Real Estate Partners – a joint venture between NorthCourse and Qatari Diar – focusing on sales and marketing of Qatari Diar’s multibillion dollar luxury real estate development portfolio.

Within Wyndham, Preben earlier held the position as President & CEO of Group RCI in Europe & Middle East.
Prior to joining Group RCI, Preben served as Head of Marketing for JPMorgan Asset Management in EMEA. Preben’s background also includes experience with American Express as Vice President, with Club Med as Marketing Director and 6 years with IBM in various business development roles.

A native of Denmark, Preben holds a M.Sc. in Economics from Copenhagen School of Economics and a MBA from IMD in Switzerland.
